Renovation and Reuse

Renovation; Our engineers approach renovation with creativity and elegance. These projects require knowledge of a broad range of building systems and materials, and our engineers are equipped to tackle these challenges while considering concerns such as cost and aesthetics.

Reuse; Our adaptive reuse experience includes the conversion of industrial buildings to open-plan commercial spaces, office buildings to residential usage, and historic buildings into theatres and cultural centres. Adaptive reuse projects leverage our knowledge of archaic structural systems, historic preservation, sophisticated structural strengthening, and the graceful integration of new components into existing structures.

Sustainability

As structural engineers, we are focused on how a project’s embodied carbon could be reduced by selecting materials such as low-carbon concrete mixes or engineered wood products, whilst remaining aware of other project constraints such as cost and durability. When selecting materials, we consider the bigger picture of their life cycle and we design and specify materials efficiently, thereby reducing demand and minimising the environmental impact
